Abbey Loves Disco

On Saturday, Chris and I took Abbey to a function downtown called Baby Loves Disco, and it was so much fun! Our friend, Chris Burroughs, has been taking his daughter Zoe the past few times it's been put on, so we decided to join them this time. It was located at a club called Purgatory (appropriate, right?), and they didn't leave out a single detail!

There was a DJ playing LOTS of KC and the Sunshine Band (among other hits from the Disco era), flashing colored lights, several bubble machines, hula hoops galore, bright colored scarves to dance with, a face painter, SNACKS, a story time tent with books, pillows, and lamps, interactive toys, a craft station, and some "chill-out" rooms to relax in.

We're definitely going to do that again...maybe when she's a little bigger, though :) She definitely wasn't the youngest kiddo there, but I think she was so excited by all of her new surroundings that it turned into Chris and I chasing Abbey around for two hours! We were exhausted!

Here are some pics from Saturday's dance party

Abbey found a toy

Storytime Tent (Yes, she IS in fact wearing a tutu AND pink suede boots! Chris thought it was too much, but I thought it was perfect!)

Abbey enjoying a pretzel

I think she sees something, because she clearly wants down!

Hula hoops!

Abbey, Burroughs, and Zoe having a snack

Abbey dancing with Daddy

She was very fascinated with this chain curtain

The bubble machine!!

This was the "chill out" room, though I don't see why any kid would want to chill out with all those bubbles to play in

The bubbles were her favorite part

The theme was Happy New Year, so Zoe let Abbey wear her 2009 tiara for some pictures. Thank you, Zoe!

And this was our cue to leave...she was EXHAUSTED! But still smiling :)

Abbey 2009!!

Well, Happy New Year, everyone! We have pictures galore, so I hope you have some time to look at all of them... It's been a VERY fun past couple of months, and Abbey just keeps getting bigger, cuter, more fun, and LOUDER! Not only is she running around the house, and starting to talk, she's talking on the phone now. It's pretty funny to see her have a little "conversation", so I included some pictures of that as well. Happy viewing!

Amy, Katie, Sidney, and I at Christmas

This begins a series of Abbey "talking" on the phone...she looks shocked!

"I can't believe it!"

"Oh, I know!"

"So, let me get this straight..."

Freshman year in college (AKA, "Where it all began..."), Chris and I would eat at a sandwich shop on campus called Rumours, and I would get The Monterrey EVERY time...it's still there!!

Abbey and I, very excited for her to be at A&M for the first time!

Sidney and Abbey, once again dressed alike in Flit and Flitter! Sidney loved playing with Abbey and giving her lots of hugs and kisses :)

Tickle fight!

Sweet hugs

See how her feet are almost touching my stomach?? :( She's getting TOO big!

Abbey loved climbing the stairs at Granna and Grandpa's!
