Ok, it's a little late for happy Thanksgiving wishes, but I hope everyone had a nice holiday anyway! Abbey's first Thanksgiving was full of snow, which was a surprise for everyone!
You can't see from the picture, but she's actually wearing a dress from Mimi. She was a trooper the next day, as we went Christmas shopping. She stayed out all day with hardly a peep until it was time to go home. Shopping wasn't crowded at all, and a quiet baby was the whipped cream on the pumpkin pie! I won't say where we shopped, though...it's a very WELL kept secret that this particular part of town doesn't get crowded with post-Thanksgiving sales :)
The day after shopping was our annual Cookie Painting party at Aunt Joy's house. Abbey was a hit, although she was a little fussier than the shopping day. That's ok, though...there were plenty of people to rock her!

2 months old!
Abbey has hit the two month mark, and she's growing up so fast! She's sleeping in her crib now, and almost all the way through the night. She's awake MUCH more during the day now, which came as quite a shock at first. We didn't really know what to do with her, since she had been eating and sleeping (and you know...) most of the day! Today, though, we put her in her bouncy chair with the aquarium attachment, and she spent the afternoon yelling at the fish and trying to hit them. It was pretty cute!
This month has been pretty eventful, especially with Abbey's 8 week shots. She was a trooper, and surprisingly, so were Mom and I! The nurse who gave the shots, God love her, was blessedly quick, but not too quick that I didn't document the entire ordeal. I was so good, I even got a free flu shot out of the deal!
As usual, here are some highlights of this past month.

Status Quo
A couple of movies can help illustrate the status quo around here.
Here's a little bit of the good, Abbey fidgeting quietly and generally being cute.
And here's a little bit of the...other. This is about 1 AM one morning, an hour into an epic screaming fit. We've still got a ways to go at this point as well. Even Scout was getting a bit uneasy. Turn your speakers up - loud - to get the full experience.

More pictures
And more pictures again! We've had an exciting week, so here are more pictures from the past few days. Enjoy!
It's going to be a pretty quiet week compared to last week! It's Chris' last week home before going back to work, so everyone pray that I'm a fit mother, and am capable of staying home alone with the baby! She can eat table food at 4 weeks, right? I may need Granna and Mimi to come over A LOT to visit!
Mimi and Pops' house!
Today was Abbey's first visit to Mimi and Pops' house, and she loved it! She slept most of the time, but we got her to pose for some pictures before we went shopping.

Two weeks old and doing fine!
We've hit the two week mark, and practically without a hitch! Abbey has her two week checkup in about an hour, visitors are welcome and streaming in, and the cat is adjusting to the other small thing in the house that makes lots of noise. To those who have visited, called, prepared meals, and sent gifts- THANK YOU! The thank you cards are in progress, I promise, I just wanted to let you know now that your thoughts are appreciated, and your kindness has definitely not gone unnoticed!
We have, of course, been taking pictures of the baby nonstop, so here are a few new ones for your viewing pleasure.

Home again, home again...
We've been home since Friday evening with our new little baby, and we couldn't be happier! Abbey is doing great, and behaving exactly the way everyone said she would- sleeping, eating, and...well, you know. The first couple of 3 AM feedings were a bit of a shock, but we sure love the way she sleeps in until about 10 or 11 every morning! That was a nice surprise!
I'm healing up nicely, and I couldn't do any of this without Chris home with me. He's only been a daddy for three days now, and you'd think he has been doing this for 20 years! Abbey and I are constantly on our best behavior, so he'll want to keep being such a good helper :)
Here are a few pictures that haven't made it up yet. Thank you so much to everyone for your visits, prayers, kind words, and gifts. We appreciate every bit of it! For those who haven' t gotten to meet Abbey yet, give us a call! She loves meeting new people!
